I haven’t been drawing much lately but I posted some of my recent drawings on my Facebook page and on Instagram though I failed to post them here.
Over the holiday season I created a series of twelve drawings for advent based on names of Jesus. Please check out the album and leave a comment or feedback. I would really appreciate it.
In the new year I decided to use those images to create a mini calendar. I added a scripture verse with the name to correspond with the images and added the calendar for the month underneath. Did you notice I started the week with Monday and the weekend at the end?! I like to see the two days of the weekend together. 🙂
The card measures only 4″X6″(post card size) and is easy to hang on a string or garland with clips or simply pin one page at a time to your notice board.
Here are a few more glimpses of it:
This was the first time ever that I made calendar but I enjoyed the process. I did have a few brainwaves in the process and I will keep these ideas on hand next time I work on a calendar.
Last year I started a project to illustrate Hindi alphabets. Having looked at the numerous and beautifully illustrated english alphabet books for pre-schoolers, I thought it would be nice to do the alphabet series myself. My daughter loves animal pictures so I set off with theme of incorporating cute land & sea animals, birds and nature into the drawings.
I gave myself a time frame but I got delayed. 10 months have gone by and finally, FINALLY this project is now complete. I have posted some progress images of this project here , here and here. In case you are not following my Facebook page, you may have missed out some of the illustrations I did so here is a compiled image of all the letters of the Hindi alphabet:
My client (my daughter) is very happy with the outcome and I am happy she is happy. I intend to refine it a bit more, put in some proper Hindi font (instead of my own handwriting) and create a wall poster for the children’s room but that will have to wait a little while longer. I will keep you posted.
My purpose in designing fabrics is to comfort, encourage, delight and inspire those who discover God's heart tucked into their quilts! I hope with this blog to increase awareness of the fabrics that carry scripture on them!
